The Egyptian economy is successfully
implementing an economic reform program. Our major sources of revenue are the
Suez Canal, tourism, labor remittances and petroleum.The following sectors are
among the major flourishing sectors of the economy.

Tourism
As a tourist, you can enjoy the beautiful
weather, the wonderful sandy beaches, where different kinds of water activities
take place; you can go surfing, snorkeling, diving and play all sorts of crazy
water games all year around. Also, you will have the chance to visit our
monuments and see for yourself the different civilizations-Pharaonic,
Greco-Roman, Coptic, and Islamic. But this is not all, you can also enjoy a
fabulous trip along the Nile cruise and a lot more..

| Spinning and weaving, metal and engineering
and food are the major industries. Industry forms 22.4% of the total national
investment.

The major crops in Egypt are cotton, wheat,
maize and rice. The cultivated area is 7.8 million feddans. |
| Infrastructure |
 |
The government is mainly responsible for most
of the investment in infrastructure. Egypt’s roads and inner city highways
accommodate 70% of domestic freight and three quarters of the passengers
movement.
Buses, taxies, trains, Cairo underground, tramways, cars and the Nile ferries
are the different means of transportation you can find in Egypt.
