Botanical Island (Geziret el-Nabatat)

A peaceful paradise full of shady trees, and unusual plants is what you’ll see in The Botanical Gardens of Aswan also called “Geziret el-Nabatat”.
 

The botanical Island was constructed in 1899, the tropical garden of Aswan is a main tourist attraction. It is a must visit for tourists to enjoy the beauty and charm of a true tropical island on the great River Nile.

 The gardens are located in Aswan city behind Elephantine Island. West of the gardens there are the tombs of the ancient Egyptian Kings and Agha-Khan tomb.

 The garden is divided into 27 flowerbeds, every bed has different types of plants than the other.

 The plants in the gardens represent old plants such as Ficus cycamorus and Phoenix dactylifera. The garden also contains different trees and shrubs from Orman botanical garden and plants imported from India and tropical countries in south-east Asia. It is a shelter for colorful and exotic birds which you can glance on the branches of most of the trees. The area is a perfect place for exploring nature in its ideal beauty.
